Get rid of the CRAP!
Okay friends this is gonna be a blunt message...I'm tired of seeing this stuff! What am I tired of?
☝️Hearing about the struggles my friends are having with their health!
✌️Watching as obesity, diabetes, sugar addictions, and complications from the above are causing people to FEEL REALLY BAD!
Friends...a lot of you know that I've been in medicine 👨⚕️ for a long time now, I've seen a lot of sickness, a lot of bad habits and the consequences, and I tend to think I've learned a thing or two. I've also had the unique fortune to fly some pretty kick a$$ fighter jets too 🛩️🛩️ - underlying all that is an appreciation for "OPTIMIZING HUMAN PERFORMANCE" and I think I have a unique perspective.
🍴🍽️🔪FORKS: What I've learned you can apply right NOW and it's really not that hard! Start by reducing the CRAP in your life!
C - carbonated sweet beverages
R - refined sugars (think "white food") 🍞🥔🥖🍜🍝
A - artificial foods (including sweetener, color, flavor)
P - processed foods (is it in a box?) 🍬🍭🍦🍨🍩🍪🎂🍰
When you shop at the grocery store, think "perimeter" shopping...the majority of real food is along the perimeter, not the aisles. 🥑🍆🥕🌶️🥒🥦🧀🥓🥩🥗🍳
🚴♂️🏋️♂️🏄♂️⛹️♂️FEET: Get moving! Are you the same size you were in high school, college? Why not, what's changed? Are you moving your feet, getting to the gym, walking, running, biking, swimming, playing? Don't have time? Would you rather spend some time in the hospital? Seriously...
🖐️🖐️🖐️FINGERS: Habits...what are you hanging on to that you know isn't going to optimize your performance? Alcohol, tobacco, candy, medications? I know it's difficult but this is a New Year, a chance to change if you're going to change!
🙏🙏🙏🧘♂️FAITH: YES, I said faith! Believe it or not but faith has been shown to improve wellness. What do you believe in? Are you convinced it's all up to you and you alone? Friends, I simply don't have enough faith to believe in "nothing". That's right, if you think having "no faith" is easier - truth is, it takes more to actually think "we" happened by pure chance.
The F-IT principle! And yes, I do promote ketones...why? I've done the 📚 , run the labs 🔬, watched as people have literally changed their body composition and oh, I've seen the results in my own life. It takes consistency and willingness to change.
